Meadowview Farm April 2013

Early morning and late afternoon, the “golden hours”, are always best for photography. The low angle of the sun makes for flattering shadows, the light is “soft” and has a warm tone that usually makes for dynamite photos. The photo of Mariann Stout on “Gypsofino” knocked my socks off when I first pulled it up on the computer at home. The contrasting colors of the white horse, the black fence, the brown sand, the blue sky, Mariann’s face and the soft browns and greens in the background bokeh (out of focus areas) just really made this an exceptional shot.
