It’s August in Indianapolis which means Artomobilia. This year saw a significant increase in the number of vehicles, but these were primarily the “Palooza” areas that feature vehicles from the local Lotus, BMW, and Porsche clubs. These tended towards all late model vehicles, and while interesting, there weren’t anything that one wouldn’t see occasionally in everyday traffic. It’s the older and custom vehicles that catch my eye and motivate me to click a few photos; these seem to be continuing their decline from previous years, unfortunately.
Interesting cars (to me) this year included:
- 1930 Buick 61
- 1949 Ford Model A
- 1908 Buick Model F — owned by the same family from new!
- 1947 Chrysler New Yorker
- 1954 Packard Patrician
- 1940 Packard 160 Coupe
- 1941 Cadillac 63 Touring
- 1969 Lotus Wedge Turbine Indy Car — presented from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway collection.
- 1942 Dodge WC-52
- BMW 2002 Turbo
