The DePauw University Womens Golf team traveled to Decatur, IL to play in the Millikin University “Take Back the Night Challenge” Tournament. The two-day tournament was played on two courses: the South Side Country Club on Friday and Red Tail Run Golf Club on Saturday. Both days saw temperatures in the 50s and strong winds making for challenging conditions.
The DePauw team persevered through the difficult playing conditions to finish 2nd to the 9th ranked Washington University St. Louis team. My daughter, Becky, shot a 74 (+2) on Friday and backed that up with a tournament best 18-hole score of 69 (-3) on Saturday to win the individual medal for the tournament. Her Saturday play included an eagle on the par 5 hole number 7.
