My younger daughter Becky was selected one of 6 individual golfers to attend the 2024 NCAA DIII Womens Golf National Championships held May 21-24, 2024 at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, KY. 29 teams also advanced by virtue of winning their respective conference championships for a total of 151 golfers.
Becky and the other golfers played through rain, rain delays, and stoppage of play due to darkness to successfully get in 72 holes of golf over 4 days. Becky posted scores of 78, 74, 73, and 74 to finish in a tie for 11th place. Her scorecard included 44 pars, 8 birdies, and 1 eagle (only 9 players scored an eagle, which is two under par for a given hole, for the tournament).
ADDENDUM: Becky was also honored to be chosen to the 2024 Women’s Golf Coaches Association Division III All-American Second Team. Additionally, Becky’s combined score of 299 is an all-time DePauw Womens Golf best score for a 4-round tournament besting the previous record set in 2019 by Larisa Luloff.
