The DePauw University Women’s Golf team was invited to the Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University at the prestigious Nemacolin Resort’s Mystic Rock course (home of the PGA Tour’s 84 Lumber Classic), winner of the 2024 NCAA D3 Women’s Golf National Championship and currently ranked #2 in the WGCA D3 Women’s Golf Coaches Poll. Also in attendance were #1 ranked Emory University, #3 ranked Washington University St. Louis, #10 ranked New York University, #12 ranked Randolph Macon College, #13 ranked Washington and Lee University, and #17 ranked Denison University (DePauw’s rival in the North Coast Athletic Conference). In total, 15 teams attended.
DePauw finished in 7th place, 4 strokes ahead of Denison University with a two-round +32. My daughter Becky finished T9 out of 85 golfers with a two-round score of -3 (72-69). Becky was struggling with a nagging cough on both days and probably did not play to her full potential.
