2025 Denison University Lynn Schweizer Invitational

My younger daughter Becky opened her senior year of golf at DePauw University by playing in the Denison University Lynn Schweizer Invitational. Becky was the individual medalist in this tournament last year and decisively won again this year. She exploded out of the gate with a first round score of 69 (-4) which included an eagle on the par 5 hole 15 and 6 additional birdies. The 15th hole has an elevated tee box with the fairway 100 feet or so below the golfer with a pond strategically placed beyond the fairway which aggressively bends to the right making the green invisible (the photo below doesn’t do justice to just how elevated the tee box is above the fairway).

Becky backed up her first round score with a 73 (+1) on day two including a birdie on the final 18th hole to shut out Randolph-Macon University’s Morgan Musset. The 18th hole is another elevated teebox situated on the opposite side of a ridge off which the 15th tee is also situated. Becky drove the green from the tee (the scorecard says 322 yards from tee to green) and sank the 2nd putt for a birdie and the tournament win.
