Boone Hall Plantation is a historic plantation near Charleston, SC. and is on the US National Register of Historic Places. The plantation was established in 1681 and has been active ever since making it the one of the oldest continually operating plantations in the United States. Boone Hall Plantation is well known for its ¾ mile long “Avenue of the Oaks” leading to the main house. The Live Oaks lining the avenue are believed to have been planted in 1743, making them 280 years old.
