Mt. Holyoke College has one of the premiere collegiate equestrian facilities in the United States. The current equestrian center was built in 1987 and boasts 120 acres of woods, streams, and fields; 69 spacious rubber-matted stalls; two indoor arenas, a large outdoor all-weather footing show arena, a permanent dressage arena, all-weather turnout paddocks, hunt field and a cross-country course.
The Mt. Holyoke equestrian program has teams that actively compete in hunter/jumper, dressage, and western disciplines. My oldest daughter has been a member of all three equestrian teams during her studies at Mt. Holyoke. She’s quite the “Renaissance woman”…
The dressage team hosted a show on March 16, 2024 attended by teams from University of Massachusetts, University of Connecticut, University of Vermont, and Johnson & Wales University. Mt. Holyoke had a great show and earned Champion honors at their first event of the 2024 season. My daughter placed 4th in the “Lower Training” division.
