My younger daughter Becky has become quite a talented golfer. This year she was invited to the Indiana Junior Golf Association Master Tour and played in the Northern Junior Masters (placing T11 in a 29 golfer field), Central Junior Masters (placing 4th in a field of 44), Southern Junior Masters (again placing 4th out of 28 golfers), and the Masters Tour Championship (placing T16 out of 30 players). In addition, she also played in the Indiana PGA Women’s Open (placing a very respectable T11 out of 94 golfers, both amateurs and professionals), the Indiana Junior Golf Association Girls Team Championship (placing 1st in the Girls 16-19 division with her teammate Abby Bladen), and the Indiana Junior Golf Association Age Group Championship (placing 3rd in the Girls 17 age group).
This fall, Becky will be playing on the University High School girls golf team. The team will be attempting to improve on their play from last year when they made school history by being the first golf team to advance to the IHSAA Girls Golf Regionals. In 2018, Becky advanced to the IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals as an individual (only the top 3 individuals advance out of Sectionals and the top 5 individuals advance out of Regionals which means 25 spots for individual golfers at the State Finals).
