High Hampton Inn, Cashiers NC

High Hampton Inn near Cashiers in North Carolina is a 1400 acre resort on land originally owned by Wade Hampton, a Major General, Governor of South Carolina and a US Senator. Caroline Halstead, niece of Wade Hampton, first planted dahlias at the High Hampton Inn and they have been grown there ever since. Guests of the Inn are invited to cut flowers and place them in their room.
