I’m grateful to have been invited back to help with photography of the 131st Monon Bell game between DePauw University and Wabash College (I also photographed the 2023 Monon Bell, which went into double-overtime). This game is arguably the most important one in both teams schedules; the winner gets possession of the coveted “Monon Bell”, a 300lb locomotive bell that became the traveling trophy for the football match in 1932.
This year’s game was held at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. After a little bit of a shaky start, DePauw went on to dominate the Wabash Little Giants 40-21. Wabash College leads the series 63-59-9 (until the 1995-96 season, college football games could end in a tie; thereafter, overtime periods were used to break any tie after regulation play).
