The 2026 DePauw Spring Clash golf tournament at Pebble Brook Golf Course was my daughter Becky’s last regular season collegiate golf match. Next weekend the team will travel to northeast Ohio to play in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Conference Championship. Hopefully, they will defeat their conference nemesis, Denison University, to secure a bid to the NCAA D3 Women’s Golf National Championship to be held at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, CA from May 19-22.
The Spring Clash was a 36-hole one-day tournament with two other women’s teams attending: Kenyon College and Benedictine University. Playing 36-holes in a single day is just a little bit grueling, but Becky outlasted the other 16 women golfers to break a tie to win the tournament with a birdie on the last hole. Becky shot two even-par rounds (70-70). The DePauw Women’s Golf team put up a season best cumulative 18-hole round of 295 as well.
